Gleaming, glowing, glossy and bright… These walls are anything but understated and I’m infatuated with every inch…

Never afraid to color outside the lines, Miles Redd allows sapphire to shine

Where was this room when I wrote Purple Rain? Check out these glossy, bold boundaries… Yum!

Jonathan Berger gave this late-19th-century Brooklyn home one jaw-dropping entrance with Benjamin Moore’s Razzle Dazzle… Wowza!

Laquered loveliness… This space couldn’t be more fab if it tried.  Loving this high-gloss blue amid black, white and yellow…  Fierce.

Absolutely adoring these endearing thank yous by Wiley Valentine and The Happy Envelope.

The Happy Envelope Thanks Card

There’s truly a place in my heart for a little letter press love and amid hustle and bustle, e-mails and texts, voicemails and memos, there aren’t many treats that compare to a crisp card, sealed with a stamp.

Local favorites Paper Doll and Elizabeth Grace, always do a brilliant job filling their shelves with both vintage and modern finds…  Stop in, stock up and reconnect with a little snail mail.

Tis the season to give thanks

Essie’s new flavorful Winter Collection has me smitten like never before… Mint Candy Apple, Lollipop and Rock Candy have joined the Essie line up and are far too fabulous to cover fingertips alone…

Don’t you agree?

Mint Candy Apple floors shine amid snow white subway tiles and lacquered cabinetry… I am eating this Windsor Smith kitchen up with a spoon! Delish!

Sarah Jessica Parker packs a Lollipop punch in her Hamptons kitchen with Enzo Mari art and a glossy red island center.

I just love how a tiny .5 oz. bottle can inspire an entire room… Don’t you?

As you know, I’m quite partial to brights, lights and whites… of neutrals and heather grays… but must admit, these slate-inspired spaces have me going to the dark side

Mario Buatta adds depth and elegance with his brilliant selection amid feminine, delicate decor…

Loving this seamless blend of ebony walls and glistening black flooring…

Crisp white linens set off soot-like surroundings oh so beautifully in this Domino bedroom…

Drama and glamour filled walls house this chic ebony and ivory tub just right…

This sleek backdrop is the perfect compliment to Vueve Clicquot hues and rustic wood floors…

Natural elements and fresh whites pair perfectly atop pitch-black boundaries…

What do you think? Time to turn in those pale walls for a little dose of drama?

CS Interiors has announced the Grand Opening of Montalbano Furniture’s newest Fulton Market location. So thrilled to hear about a new addition to our city’s Oldest Furniture Manufacturer, Restorer and Importer. Congrats to the Family owned and operated Windy City treasure.

When: Thursday, November 19th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Where: 1048 W. Fulton, Chicago

Come out and celebrate the Grand Opening amid antiques, art, appetizers and one of a kind pieces crafted by none other than Montalbano.

Two Windy City fashionistas gave their La Porte estate a renovating makeover and welcomed Chicago Home + Garden Magazine through their doors… So happy they did.

This glossy red entranceway has me crazy in love… Paired with black and white papered walls, it truly shines as it should.

Love, love, loving this effortless mix of classic and modern.. of matte and gloss.. of slate and white. Lucite Louis X-esque chairs amid mirrored finishes leave this space feeling boundless and bright.

A consistent palette enables the couple to mix, match, accessorize and expand collections at will while maintaining a sense of fluidity and balance throughout… “It’s incredible how much fun it is to play musical furniture. We like playing house.”

The perfect mix of personality and soul… well-collected and a true reflection of the Mark Heister Designs pair. “We’re from a black-tie life in the fashion business. Every day is an event, and why not?”

Well said!

House Beautiful always houses an endless collection of delectable tablescapes and featured a great concept in their November issue.  15 tastemakers received a classic white Pottery Barn setting and a challenge to make it their own.

Eric Cohler’s perfectly prepared breakfast tray guarantees a good morning in my book!

Color me happy! Would you expect anything less from Miles Redd?

I’m loving Phoebe Howard’s timeless trio of white, silver and gold…

Jan Barboglio brings a “richness of spirit, a softness of age and a story” to the table with meaningful artifacts and minimal color.

Pick up the latest issue of House Beautiful for more classic white transformations and entertaining inspiration…

I think that I am going to grab a bite to eat!

Multi-colored leaves… Crisp, cool air…  Hot tea… Sumptuous fabrics…have I told you how much I love Chicago in the fall?
Autumn 1
I find Autumn to be the perfect time to indulge and accessorize  homes as we prepare for the chilly months to come… a bit of nesting, if you will… Whether it’s incorporating a cozy throw, filling the air with spice-infused scents or translating leaf-inspired hues into all interiors with a pop of November soul, the indoors truly become an oasis to me this time of year. Here are a few fabulous fall finds…
It wasn’t hard to fall for this charming stackable stoneware tea set…a perfect cold weather companion.

Autumn 2
Rich color, texture and warmth…  My must-haves for the season!

Autumn 3
Now all that’s missing is a good book. Hot off the press:

Autumn 4
One of my Design Assistants, Paulina, and our Intern, Collete, stepped out to scoop up a couple copies ( and one for me 🙂 ) in person at Alessandra Branca’s New Classic Interiors book signing event last week in the city… Fabulous imagery and such signature style…
Whatever your simple pleasures may be, enjoy!
More to come… Cheers to the Great Indoors!
