Orange Fantasy
Monday, March 08, 2010 | Category: Color, Decorating, Design Inspiration
If it isn’t already abundantly apparent, I have a mild (maybe a little more than mild…) obsession with orange. One of the most prominent features in my house is an oversized orange vintage leather wingback chair that sits next to a vintage Audrey Hepburn print, in which she proudly sports orange garb. It is one of the first things that greets visitors upon their arrival into my home, firmly establishing that orange holds a special place in my heart and in my interiors.
{Orange lovin’ in my own home}
Well needless to say that when I dined at the chic Fulton Market restaurant Otom the other night, my heart was aflutter with the orange themed interior. Simple yet beautifully modern, Otom serves up delicious dishes that are as fresh as the orange and white interiors. My eggplant and tomato gnocchi followed by mahi mahi with beluga lentils was heavenly, as were the orange and chrome chair I was sitting in.

Oh wow. I kid you not, just last night I considered writing a post about orange. I have a lot of orange accents in my bedroom but haven’t quite fully committed to orange walls, fabric or furniture.
Great post.

a very unique and salient feature chandelier and the table under it is a marvelous piece for decor and for utilization.

I do love orange. My bedroom and dining room are painted Benjamin Moore Rust…….it is the most delicious shade of orange and when people walk into the room they walk up to the walls and say OMG what color is this??

Thanks, I wil… I just have to know: Is your chandelier hanging from a hook? What is that? How did you think of it? Very cool!

I had the chandelier and the old industrial hook sitting next to each other in my garage for quite sometime -purely by chance as I have a lot of goodies lurking there. When i was searching for a piece for our hew home- voila!
A young industrial designer worked on it for a couple of months rewiring and working on the best way to combine the two aged beauties.
He did the most amazing job! The bobeches on the piece are actually just pieces of paper that we designed as a prototype and then loved so much that we kept in place!

I love the picture of the girl in the hat…any chance that picture is sold anywhere on the ol’ internets? I am looking for some large artwork to go over my fireplace. Thanks.
