Wow….

…that’s Epic. Yes, Epic with a capital E. Epic is one of Chicago’s latest “it” restaurants, and not only for its delish dishes. The big E is highly touted as one of the coolest restaurant spaces of the new year, and is featured in this month’s Chicago Magazine “Hot List: 10 Places Everyone’s Talking About and Dining at in May.” Holding its own on this list with other hot names such as Xcoco (Rick Bayless’s new taco “joint”), M Burger (Lettuce Entertain You’s latest venture…in the form of a burgers) and Balsan (one of the highly praised restaurants in the chic, new Elysian Hotel), Epic has big shoes to fill….amongst its competition and living up to its larger than life name.
Epic is located at:
112 W. Hubbard, Chicago IL (River North), 312-222-4940
“Industrial chic” is the style Metromix uses to describe the River North eatery. Doesn’t this seem to be the “it” theme of restaurants these days? Salvaged wood tables, warehouse spaces, concrete and steel…check out the pics and tell me if you think that this “Epic” space wows you over.
Interiors not wowing you? Well maybe this food will lure you in instead…

For my very first trip out to Chicago 4 weeks ago to attend NeoCon I had the pleasure of being taken out by Shaw Contract Group to Epic for super. I had an amazing meal which I photographed the whole way through. We showed up early because it was pouring outside and ended up staying until close… hours of great food, drinks and chocolate dipped doughnuts!
The old industrial feel with brick walls and backlit curtains made for a very chic and classy steak dinner feel.
Thank you Julia for the great post
