High Point Market – Style Spotting Finds

I had SUCH a great time at High Point that I wanted to share my finds with all my MG’s! It was so great seeing and connecting with so many fabulous people within our national design community.  If you like any of the pieces which I “spotted”and selected to be the most interesting, on-trend and just plain fascinating, please click the photo to “like” and “repin” from my Pinterest board. Each “like” and “repin” counts as votes – and I had so much fun that I would LOVE to go back to the April 2013 High Point Market as a Style Spotter yet again- as the “spotter”with the highest number of total points will be invited back, all expenses paid. Hurry, voting ends on Friday!

I had the pleasure of aligning with eight other talented and inspiring #hptmkt #stylespotters. Cheers to Gretchen Aubuch@fashionanddecorLisa Mende@designLHMTraci Zeller @tracizellerCassandra LaValle@casslavalleLori Dennis,

Franciscan Armoire in savannah grey and creme finish by Peninsula Home Collection Co. I love the patina of this piece! Could work in either a traditional or mod space. Love it? Click on the image and “heart” or re-pin this.

Helloooo Caracole!! Your “The Tastemaker” table was calling my name from the minute I stepped into the showroom. The exquisite “Wedding Dress White” finish with shagreen trim and curvy legs capped in silver would be divine in many spaces- regardless of style. Removing the center leaf would create the perfect “small spaces” table. Love it? Click on the image and “heart” or re-pin this.

Crazy about the stunning bar cabinet with its “Best Seller” Status. In all of its Chelsey Gray Limed Finish- I confess that I am a sucker for gray finishes- with bifold doors, linen wrapped doors, mirrored back and all lit up with recessed cans. Perfect for any and all parties- it is a party in itself! Isn’t she gorgeous? Heart and repin it!

Recycle and repurpose- that’s a big deal within my design business- so imagine my excitement upon finding exquisite COLORFUL glass sculptures at Julian Chichester! On a bookshelf, centerpiece of a cocktail table arranged with other antique + modern artifacts- perfection. Will look smashing on my DIFFA dining table! Add it to your Pinterest board by repining it now!

Loving these multi-colored hide pillows I spotted at Design Accents Suite at High Point! One of each, please! Love it as much as I do? Click on the image and “heart” or re-pin this.

Oh boy! Color, color, color! Spotted these Palacek Design stackable mod and mid-century reminiscent gems “Mazatlan” chairs in pink, green, orange, white + black too. Best of both worlds for indoor or outdoor use. Click on the image and “heart” or re-pin this!

Loving this coral lacquered New Traditional “Dressing Chest”- Hot + new! Show your friends you like hot + new, repin this to your Pinterest board!

STUNNING bedding vignette- I just love it all at Thibault Design. Stacy and her team welcomed us with open arms. Canopy, headboard, drapery panels, coverlet, pillows-oh my!!! All fabrics, furnishings (launched this year) + wallpaper (over 125 years in the biz) in this Historic Market Square showroom. This is one that definitely needs bookmarking on your Pinterest board.

Guess what this is called??? The “Face Desk” of course! Amazing sculpted + architecturally interesting- I can just see this in many of my client projects. But, I think one may be headed to my BI+D Showroom in Chi as well 😉 Tell me what you think by clicking on the image to “heart” or re-pin this!

Like marble? Like carved marble? Well, your perfect coffee table has been found! The “Marble Fret Cocktail Table” at Globalviews is one hunky chunk. Although it is made all of marble, in white it feels light and happy. The “Fret” is perfectly comfortable within traditional, classic and elegant settings as well as the centerpiece of a modern loft. Love it? Click on the image and “heart” or re-pin this!

The “Paulina Side-By-Side” is such a unique piece. Actually a pair of chairs that fit together perfectly to create this stunner. It is priced as a piece- but the originality of the divided center makes it über special. The bubble carved legs in light wood are feminine + sassy. Add to that that my assistant, Paulina, who is traveling with me wanted it badly- before she even saw the name! Magical. Love it? Pin it!

Jewel tones reign throughout High Point this season. I am in heaven! At Bungalow5 there is a mirror that embraces this theme- colorful glass in amethyst, blue and amber make up their Sunburst Wall Mirror. Mirror mirror on the wall- it’s the fairest of them all! Be sure to  “heart” or re-pin this on your Pinterest board!

What a fabulous dinner party conversation starter! Just think of the fun you could have with these chalkboard backed “Percy”(square back) and “Louis” (round back) Bernhardt chairs at your next bash. I couldn’t help but to add it to my Style Spotting 🙂 Love it? Re-pin this!

This carpet literally almost leapt out at me while in the Loloi Showroom! The “Madeline” is full of the most energetic + vibrant colors- talk about a “wow” factor in any environment! Reminds me of one of my daughters with same name ❤ Click on the image to “heart” or re-pin this.

HALO STYLES ROCKS! Think antique, think retro, think right up my alley. This “Kitchenalia” chandelier melds a classic antique French crystal chandelier with whimsical antique kitchen utensils + pewter mugs. Form + function combined! Pinterest chandelier boards are missing this. Be one of the first to pin it to yours!

Currey & Co has been my go-to for lighting for ages. I still adore the pieces that were originally hung in my Showroom/Offices a few years ago. So it should come as no surprise that one of their latest case pieces – the “Garbo Settee” continues this Love Fest. Currey & Co. can be found surrounded by BI+D love. Speaking of love, be sure to “heart” this on your Pinterest board to show your support!

Ooh-la-la! I would like to introduce you to “Moo-la-la the savvy + modern wing chair that I fell for hard at CR Laine today. The frame is fabu but the fabric is Eco-chic. Faux, faux, faux is the way to go here with the “vegan” fabric that is completely animal friendly. On the outside looking in it seems like a hide but after closer inspection and Holly’s blessing I learned that it was a perfect impostor. This belongs your vegan innovation  Pinterest board!

I also had the great opportunity to speak on two panels during the market. During the first I shared my expertise on trends and accessories, alongside Beth Webb, a superstar designer from Atlanta, and Dan Weiss President and CEO of Lillian August, and our fantastic moderator, Lee Hershberg, VP of Home Decor at the International Home Furnishings Center.

Above you’ll see Gretchen Aubuchon, Cassandra LaValle, Stacy Naquin and our charming moderator, Cheminne Taylor-Smith, VP of Marketing at High Point Market discussing our favorite High Point moments. All in all, High Point Market was brilliant! Again, I am so honored to have been chosen as a Style Spotter. What were your favorite pieces that I “Style Spotted” from High Point? Did you have any favorites that I missed?

Check out my Pinterest board for all the goods! Thanks again lovelies!
