I received the PB catalog the other day- and woah, is it patriotic! They went to town with red, white and blue this month.

pb1

It’s too bad they don’t rent out their furniture for the weekend, because we could have used some 7/4 decor at the lakehouse this weekend!

pb2

Nothing like red, white and blue to put you in the mood for fireworks, food, family, and celebrating America’s independence!

Happy Birthday United States! Hope everyone has a very relaxing and safe weekend.

I have the best friends in the world- they read the blog regularly, send me emails directing my attention to spelling mistakes I’ve made in posts (oops!), and alert me to new products when they think they might be a good topic for MG.

Last weekend my friend Bonnie emailed me about Square Feathers.  She saw them in Town and Country magazine and thought their pillows looked like something I would be interested in.  Turns out, she was right!

Ron McIntyre is the Texas based interior designer behind these original and imaginative creations.  Each pillow is hand sewn and given the utmost attention.

It wasn’t long before I was emailing Ron to ask for photos of these special Square Feather pieces (ok, not long meaning- ten minutes after Bonnie alerted me to them!)

See what I mean? They are so eye catching and too much fun not to post.

I can see two of these Jolie “Lime” stools under a lucite console table.

This pillow is the key to my sofa transformation!

sf-cube-sea-web

I love their “Sea” Cube.  How cute would this look in a beach house paired with orange or silver accents?

Now on to their fab pillows…

sf-willow-wht-14-pic

The Willow pillow has some excellent texture to it giving this square lots of organic and natural charm.

sf-cherry-large-right-pic1

Who doesn’t love a cherry blossom?  Especially one so graphic!

iiii-button-rose-ivory22

Not all sides are created equal! This asymmetrical design is what makes the Button Rose pillow so unique…and the 3-d flowers give it that extra detailing that you wouldn’t find on a “normal” pillow.

Last but not least, the Safari Orange pillow brings the meaning of jungle to a whole new level.

I am such a pillow person…would it be really awkward if I had one of each design in my living room? How could you decide on just one pattern? I’ll take them all please with a side of Sea Cube.

Visually Comforted!

Posted By Emily-Dallas | Jul 01, 2009 | 5 Comments | Category: Lighting

That’s how I feel after waiting six long months for these Visual Comfort lamps to come in.

I purchased these for my mom’s formal living room and what was originally on backorder for only a few months unfortunately turned into six so you can imagine our excitement when these finally arrived a few days ago!

The living room originally looked like the below- with the mirrored consoles against the wall and the sofa in the middle of the room…my mom moved it around today to see what the couch would look like against the wall (above).  Which arrangement do you like better? I’m torn!

You really can’t go wrong with Visual Comfort lighting.  Every single piece is drop dead gorgeous! Their collections consist of pieces designed by well known interior designers such as Thomas O’Brien, Alexa Hampton, Barbara Barry, Michael Smith, and Suzanne Kasler, to name a few.  Everything they produce is just so classy and can go in a more traditional setting or a more modern setting.  Such versatile, timeless, and tasteful lighting- it’s a wonder why I specify any other company!

Here are a few of my favorites:
