Quatrine in Dallas recently got a makeover!  The exterior couldn’t be more perfect- a simple lantern, beige and white wide stripes, and a gray and white awning makes for a classy storefront.

As you can see, Quatrine tends to be on the more feminine side (which is of course why I love it so much!)

quatrine-0011

Slipcovers and skirted tables galore…

quatrine-017

What I loved about their recent makeover is how they put different wallcoverings and paint on each wall- highlighting each vignette.  As you can see on the wall in the background here, they covered it in a map print.  (and how could we overlook that gorgeous bold red pillow in the foreground!)

quatrine-018

So enamored with this piece!  Individual silver frames were put together to create one large map.  Maps are such a great alternative to the traditional piece of art.  They are definitely very hot right now!

quatrine-0061

Their artwork is one of my favorite things about Quatrine.  So unique and so pretty.

quatrine-0022

You know I can’t resist a beautiful tufted piece!

I spy the twig table! I love this sectional trimmed in a contrast welt- everything works so well here.

quatrine-010

Quatrine has drawers and drawers of fabrics that you can pull out and choose from (kind of like being at Victoria Secret but so much  more fun!)

quatrine-011

Even their desk area is adorable! Everything is so soft and calming in this showroom- I could definitely live here!

quatrine-003

More inventive artwork…but this time, they used leaves

Now can you see why I love Quatrine!  If you are in Dallas, be sure to go take a peek at their new renovation at

3120 Knox St.

(excuse the awkward spacing in my post- technical difficulties!)

I just got the skinny from Lucky Mag about Anthropologie’s newest venture.  This popular retail chain will be teaming up with artists around the world and selling their unique hand-made home decor creations to the general public!

Samantha Robinson from “the land down under” produces these hand-cast Watermelon bowls.  A fun tidbit- they are molded from actual watermelons and then painted!

These fun porcelain bowls covered in wool, lace, and crochet are produced by John Bauer of Cape Town.

The Material Girls can’t get enough of wallpaper!  And how about hand-stitched wallpaper from British artist Tracy Kendall? Never quite seen anything like it! (passage is from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Nights Dream)

anth7

Pieke Bergmans’ creative pieces include sleek, colorful glass vases that are hand-blown onto more industrial pieces (in this case, a ladder)

anth8

These chairs by Leslie Oschmann, an artist from Amsterdam, are not to be missed!  These vintage chairs get their personality from found canvases.

These items are very limited and can only be found in certain Anthro stores across the US!  If you are in New York, you are in luck! All items from this collection are being sold at the Rockefeller Center flagship.

When flipping through current design magazines, it’s easy to recognize those pieces that are the hot items of the moment.  Why is that? Because they are everywhere!

They are those accessories or furniture pieces that have become a trend, a fad, a craze, en vogue, the look, the thing, all the rage, in style- the object of the moment!

But when does it become so over-used that it isn’t exciting anymore?  When is it old news?

We want to know…what pieces do you think have been over-exposed lately as a trend and which pieces do you render more timeless?
