40’s Drama in a Bed & Bath

I was flipping through the latest Bathroom Trends magazine today at work and came across this gorgeous bed and bathroom designed by Jamie Herzlinger. Inspired by 40’s drama and the work of Richard Neutra and Rudolph Schindler, her personal Master Suite has plenty of sparkle.

The Master Bedroom’s walls are finished with Venetian plaster, while the Bathroom walls are dressed in Donghia Raffia.  Jamie is certainly all about texture…the club chairs are upholstered in a Donghia silk paired with white linen piping.  Of course I love the mirrored night stands – FABULOUS!

I love the exotic wood on the cabinetry, and I find it interesting that she chose vertical graining (horizontal graining is all the rage right now – guess she’s one step ahead).  I LOVE the custom whimsical mirrors and the Urban Archeology light fixtures mounted on marble mosaic tiles.  Notice the “x” bench for her vanity area.

The large curb-less, frameless shower is covered in Bianco Carrara slabs with a nice, large bench.

Jamie is able to continue the clean-lined feel with this structural freestanding 6′ tub.

The floor plan shows how truly unique this bathroom’s floor plan really is.  This might possibly be one of my favorite bathrooms…clean-lined yet glamorous, loaded with exotic woods, mosaic, and white marble – what’s not to love?
