Chesterfield Love

Tuesday, August 25, 2009 | Category: Budget Design, Furniture

I may still be high from my $75 West Elm Parson’s Desk purchase made via Craig’s List last week…but this chesterfield sofa is so chic!  So chic that I think it already sold…I mean at $450 – who could resist?!  I almost bought it myself  but decided to hold out for the perfect (and now most likely custom) slipcovered sofa.  It immediately reminded me of the low slung number Rachel Zoe has in her new studio…

One of my favorite pieces of furniture from my childhood home was a medium brown leather chesterfield sofa that my interior designer mother bought for my dad’s library. I just recently inherited that sofa and know that it will stand the test of trendy time.

There is nothing like a chesterfield!

This year’s hot decorating trend may be black and white, while next year it may be shades of red and coral. Yet no matter what the decorating trend, most of us cannot afford to redecorate when the latest and greatest hot new thing appears. So, what do you do when a decorating trend shows up that you just cannot live without? Let’s take a look at one decorating trend – using black and white – and see how many ways we can think of to incorporate that scheme into our home, without spending a fortune on revamping everything.
