There is certainly no shortage of dark espresso stained four poster beds…check any big box website and you’re bound to find at least one.  The mirrored canopy bed Jonathan Berger used in the bedroom above is ANYTHING but mass-produced.  If you already have a dark canopy bed – check out Anne Turner Carroll’s transformation for Southern Living – amazing!

Miles Redd is still getting praise for his chinoiserie bedroom seen in the late, great Domino.  It’s still perfect to me.  Bottom line – canopy and four poster beds come in a variety of finishes for completely different looks and different tastes.

So what’s your preference – wood or iron, mirrored or painted?

Channeling: Quantum of Solace

Posted By Lauren-Houston | Feb 15, 2010 | 7 Comments | Category: Uncategorized

The last two installments of the Bond saga are always my go-to stay in and watch a movie picks.  Last night, Quantum of Solace, was my choice, and I was left drooling not over Daniel Craig (though he’s not too shabby), but rather the fictional Aldean Grand Hotel.  The hotel, set in Bolivia, is outfitted in B & B Italia’s Maxalto collection.  Set design credit goes to Anna Pinnock and production designer, Dennis Gassner.

Here are a few items to help you create a Bond-worthy lounge in your own home!

Belgian Bluestone Top Trestle Farm Table

A trestle table according to Wikipedia is, “an item of furniture comprising two or three trestle supports linked by a longitudinal cross-member over which a board or tabletop is placed.”  I personally love a touch of iron or a metal top on my trestle!  How do you like yours??

{Cynthia Rowley for Roxy Wedges}

When I spotted these kaleidoscope wedges by Cynthia Rowley in the latest Lucky, I knew I had to find a room to match!  I think this room by Eileen Kathryn Boyd hits the mark with its bold color, graphic pattern, and geometric accents.  Now we just have to wait until April for Rowley’s line for Roxy to launch…

My apologies for using the blog as a classified ad, but I’m looking for a fabulous photographer to do an interiors shoot for me THIS SATURDAY!  Please email me if you are a photographer or if you know someone I should contact!

On another note, I’m in love with Anna Kohler’s apartment (her kitchen is the photo above) as on Caitlin’s blog.
