I really love Dining Rooms, and maybe one day, when we are no longer apartment dwellers we might actually have one!  Here are my picks for some oh-so-fabulous dining room buffets!

French Chest by Wistera – $1,399

I LOVE this buffet, and it’s actually a very reasonable price! ¬†From here.

Painted White Swedish Buffet $2,945 – Pair this painted buffet with your grandmother’s mahogany dining room table, slipcovered parsons chairs, a fabulous chandelier, and contemporary art work!

Low Bleached Oak Mirrored Cabinet – $4,795… What can I say, this cabinet is SO me!

Antique Chinese Red Buffet

Munich Buffet $1,199 – for that Park Avenue Sophistication see above and below.

Jackson Buffet $4,450

Mercer Sideboard from WSHome $3,450 – when I see this I think, “bachelor, bachelor, bachelor.”

Terrace Mirrored Buffet from Pottery Barn $1,299.99 – ADORABLE!

Seeing as how my apartment is a chock-full of furniture, I’ve decided to put further furniture acquisitions on hold until we finally find a place to call our own (although I might get crafty with a headboard). My focus has been shifted towards accessories. I’ve spent way too much money snagging up accessories that are just so-so from major big-box chains and then hating them 6 months later. In fact, I have an entire walk-in closet full such impulse purchases. Now I’m focused on buying things I really love – flea market or high brow. Here are a few pics of my favorite accessories that I’ve had my eye on…

{I’d kill for these obelisks from Mrs. Howard – and the lamp for that matter}

After seeing Paloma’s post on these Penguin Classic books, I think these are a must have.

I’d take a Nola lamp in either color!

This lamp would be PERFECT in our Master Bedroom – I’ll take a pair!

I call these the Poor Man’s kaleidoscope! Great for on a wall or on a table.

This Iomoi tray is on my birthday list! It’s hard to pick just one tray!

Designer Gary Spain (see amazing photos – here) uses busts and boxes in this tablescape and I love both!

One of my favorite coffee table-scapes ever!

Last but not least, they may be a little creepy but these vintage glove molds are perfect for draping jewels!

Um, Love!

“Um, LOVE!” That’s what I practically shrieked when I came across the work of Wendy Blount on Desire to Inspire. I had to share a few of my favorite images from her website. The top picture is a new favorite!

I just had to post this Mary McGee Dining Room I saw here because I think it is perfection. Chocolate walls, gold mirror, linen, velvet, silk, and peonies, what’s not to love??

Chair on a Budget…

Posted By Lauren-Houston | Apr 10, 2008 | 1 Comment | Category: Budget Design, Dining Rooms

If you have champagne taste on a beer budget (we use that expression all the time at the office) you must learn to see past stigmas and brand names. I have not seen this chair in person, but I think it could be a knock-out. The cushion would be a breeze to re-upholster and voila, it looks triple the price! Would you guess it comes from here for only $149.99 ?!
