Purpose-ful Restoration

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 | Category: Art, Designers, Furniture

I recently came across an LA-based furniture restoration company that goes beyond the typical process of restoring a piece of furniture:  they actually reinvent it to the level of an artistic creation. Whether it’s an old dated dresser, an old school metal desk, an old folding screen…whatever it may be, they will transform it into a custom work of art.  The company is Purpose Restoration, a team of two guys, Jason Fox and Guy Ellis who will provide full services from conceptual renderings to refinishing and restoration to shipping worldwide.

Check out some of these amazing transformations:

aren’t these great. So inspiring. And so much better than any thing you’d find at P.B. In fact, I think these sorts of projects actually inspire the design dept over there.

The desk is my favorite. I’ve got an awful (but so practical) dining buffet I’m dying to redo … great inspiration here.

Love the metallic dresser with the green glass knobs! I wouldn’t have thought to pair those together.
