Banquette Beauties

{from the September/October issue of Lonny Magazine}
It seems I am always and forever suggesting banquettes to clients for their eat-in kitchens, breakfast rooms, or dining rooms. Banquettes are often a great use of space, they provide maximum seating in the most compact areas and can double as storage too. Most often, they are practical and functional (and even offer a cozier place to sit and read a book or work on a laptop). I currently have a client building one for her new house, in the open flow kitchen / breakfast room and recently completed one for a client’s kitchen that has a very small breakfast nook. Over time, I have collected images of beautiful banquettes for inspiration!

We put a banquette in our kitchen a couple years ago and it was the best thing we could have done. We doubled our seating space and I think it looks much nicer than the standalone table and chairs did.

LOVE the butterfly artwork behind the mauve-ish (color?) banquette from Lonny Magazine. I always forget how updated that color can feel if done right.
Great post!

A wonderful collection of images. I think my favourite would have to be the sixth one down, I love that it is situated by the large windows and allows for natural light, perfect for night and day.

Just today Mum & I were discussing the odd corner in her kitchen and how she didn’t know how to ‘make it work’, now I know the perfect suggestion for her! Goodness knows how I didn’t see this for myself! Thank you for continuing to inspire.
