The Fat Cow

The Fat Cow, a new restaurant from Chef Gordon Ramsay, has officially opened at The Grove in Los Angeles. I happen to stop by recently to check out the very chic, rustic, industrial vibe interiors (designed by AK Design Network). The restaurant features communal dining tables, tufted leather booths, rugged industrial lighting with Edison bulbs, & details such as vintage wall decor. There is both indoor/outdoor seating, a bar, and the infamous “The Moo Bar” – a walk-up counter for old-fashioned style ice cream, milkshakes, sundaes, etc.

The interiors of The Fat Cow, Gordon Ramsay’s latest restaurant to come to LA.

Vintage-y style decor line the walls, like this cow embossed glass window frame.

A cluster of individual bar height tables and stools are in close proximity to the bar area.

There are two convenient entrances, one facing the move theater side and the other on the storefront side, with The Moo Bar between.

Industrial chic lighting like these suspended crates creates quite a vibe for the casual dining spot.

Folded paper menus adorn the tables, to further set the tone for the ultra rustic atmosphere.

The menu is quite diverse, while partly English gastropub (Fish & Chips, Shepherd’s Pie), it also features a range of entrees from Salads to Stone Baked Pizzas. Chef Mathew Woolf, formerly of West Restaurant and Lounge, which I featured here, is now the Executive Chef at The Fat Cow.

As I had come by for an early lunch, I opted for something light, the Beets & Burrata salad was fresh and flavorful. I am looking forward to coming back for dinner and have my eye on the Flat Iron Steak or the Grilled Organic Salmon (listed on the menu above).

Cozy leather tufted booths line one wall opposite the communal dining style tables.

The Fat Cow is located at The Grove, 189 The Grove Drive, Los Angeles, Open Daily 11am-11pm

I kinda love the tufted booths and the crate lights. It looks like a fun aesthetic. Can’t wait to try the food!
