I was recently introduced to the eBoutique: Perry Clark Home, an online source for unique finds and goods relating to decorative accessories, art, textiles, tableware, furnishings, & more. It’s an artisan influenced of well curated selections.

image

Some of my favorite Fall finds and gift giving items are their lush textiles and throws in neutral earthy tones.

image

I am loving these Kashwere Houndstooth Luxury Throws. They come in black / cream, slate gray / white, & malt / cream.

image

A worldly collection of art featuring architecture and street scenes are available.

Some of the unique tableware items on the site are these:

image

I like the rustic and modern look of these pepper and salt mill set. They are made from brushed stainless steel and acacia wood.

image

These “dash” and “pinch” salt and pepper cellars are cute too.

image

On the whimsical side these bicycle plates designed by Artisan Rae Dunn are available in four distinctively designed bikes.

image

The rustic theme flows into the furnishings category. This Farmhouse Dining Table is custom made by Sovie Woodworking exclusively for Perry Clark Home. It’s handcrafted of old growth pine reclaimed from a turn of the century barn in Northwest Ohio.

image

Last but not least, pretty scented candles always make great gifts!

Dwell on Design returned to Los Angeles this year for another round of great design events and exhibitions, seems like it gets better and better every year! This year I explored the show to see both new finds and old finds, but always interesting new showcases. From ideas on landscaping to space-maximizing bathroom ideas from Geberit, here are some of my highlights from this year’s #DOD2015.

image

Love the colorful and graphic fabrics available from The Shade Store.

image

A highlight, and absolute favorite, the faucets and fittings from Franz Viegener – beautiful minimal streamlined design!

image

More from the Buenos Aires based company, Franz Viegener.

image

Beautiful hardware from Franz Viegener too.

image

For a second year in a row, I’ve had the opportunity to team up with Geberit. I’ve since come to know their products and have seem many installed in both commercial and residential use that look amazing. Pictured above, is the Geberit Monolith and Sigma50 Flush Plate. Both save space, operate quietly and conserve water. For more, visit them on Houzz and Pinterest.

image

Another show favorite, the beautiful cabinetry from Bauformat.

image

Cabinet colors come in an array of colors and finishes, from Bauformat.

image

Fun tile selections from Bedrosians.

image

A fun section featured at Dwell on Design was the Outdoor area filled with great ideas and sources for landscaping.

image

StepStone, Inc had these cool hexagon concrete pavers.

image

Loved seeing the modular home designs as were on display, just like the ones on display last year. This year’s were even more uniquely designed from an interiors standpoint.

image

Lacava has the classiest vanities.

image

Fun, colorful chairs from Bend Goods!

Looking forward to next year’s Dwell on Design – the show that keeps getting bigger & better! Thank you to Geberit for inviting me to provide show coverage!

I like black. While I love color too, there is something about black being basic, classic, elegant, and perhaps a basis for a neutral. Plus when used in a specific way, can become high contrast. It stands out. It is, of course, all the colors mixed together.

Come on in. Nothing like high gloss black doors.

Black kitchen cabinets: Classic, timeless.

Yet contemporary too.

Black + White = Simplistic + Minimalistic.

Black furniture: vintage chic.

This black bathtub is the epitome of luxe.

I am sure this black matte refrigerator would be a conversation piece in any kitchen.

Lauren Conrad’s chic and colorful Beverly Hills penthouse was recently featured in InStyle magazine. Pictured above Lauren sits in her home office on a punchy orange tufted sofa and an area rug seen on the floor made from recycled silk saris.

Continuing with puncy colors is a custom rounded banquette in her breakfast nook complemented by an Eero Saarinen table.

JillSeidner

Her high ceiling living room with graphics and a black and white theme is remiscent of an airy New York loft, which she wanted the room to have a feel for.

JillSeidner

To add visual interest to the living room, she added moulding and brick veneer, then had it white washed to look more aged!

Her dark mirrored bar includes a black laquered ceiling.

The dining room table and chairs are vintage complemented by a contemporary light fixture.

The Christopher Guy showroom on Beverly Boulevard, in the heart of the West Hollywood Design District, is in full festive holiday mode. The front windows are decorated with gifts and an elegant white tree among sophisticated Christopher Guy furniture pieces. I happen to pass by the other evening en route to an event and catpured a few pictures of the glam window display.

Supermodel Karlie Kloss shares her first NYC apartment, located in the West Village, on a quiet street just a few blocks from the Hudson River. She enlisted interior designer Nate Berkus to help her create the chic look go her very first home.

image

The goal was to create a look that reflects her style, in relating to fashion, to mix and match the same way she does with clothes.

One of her favorite spots, she says, is the kitchen – where she has a passion for baking cookies. I love the multi-level / stairs to kitchen with the paned glass and tiny dining banquette.

This past week I attended a special event at Kelly Wearstler’s flagship boutique on Melrose for the celebration of the book, “In The Spirit Of Beverly Hills” published by Assouline. In attendance was both Kelly Wearstler and Nancie Clare, author of the book. The amazing photos in this post were taken by my friend and photographer, Marcia Prentice.

It’s hard to believe that Fall is upon us (at least in Los Angeles, where it still feels like summer!) but Fall Market is taking place this week at the Pacific Design Center. Looking forward to attending events and seeing fellow interior designers and bloggers. If you plan to attend, here are the deets.
