I was recently introduced to the eBoutique: Perry Clark Home, an online source for unique finds and goods relating to decorative accessories, art, textiles, tableware, furnishings, & more. It’s an artisan influenced of well curated selections.

image

Some of my favorite Fall finds and gift giving items are their lush textiles and throws in neutral earthy tones.

image

I am loving these Kashwere Houndstooth Luxury Throws. They come in black / cream, slate gray / white, & malt / cream.

image

A worldly collection of art featuring architecture and street scenes are available.

Some of the unique tableware items on the site are these:

image

I like the rustic and modern look of these pepper and salt mill set. They are made from brushed stainless steel and acacia wood.

image

These “dash” and “pinch” salt and pepper cellars are cute too.

image

On the whimsical side these bicycle plates designed by Artisan Rae Dunn are available in four distinctively designed bikes.

image

The rustic theme flows into the furnishings category. This Farmhouse Dining Table is custom made by Sovie Woodworking exclusively for Perry Clark Home. It’s handcrafted of old growth pine reclaimed from a turn of the century barn in Northwest Ohio.

image

Last but not least, pretty scented candles always make great gifts!

Supermodel Karlie Kloss shares her first NYC apartment, located in the West Village, on a quiet street just a few blocks from the Hudson River. She enlisted interior designer Nate Berkus to help her create the chic look go her very first home.

image

The goal was to create a look that reflects her style, in relating to fashion, to mix and match the same way she does with clothes.

One of her favorite spots, she says, is the kitchen – where she has a passion for baking cookies. I love the multi-level / stairs to kitchen with the paned glass and tiny dining banquette.

This past week I attended the opening party for the Los Angeles Modernism Show, taking place through the weekend at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. The show features over fifty exhibitors displaying 20th century furniture, decorative and fine art from across the US and Europe. Most all the exhibitors (with a few exceptions) are based here in Southern California. The event also benefits P.S. Arts, a charity working to improve the lives of children by providing arts education (a charity I’ve mentioned and featured greatly on the blog). The show featured some amazing  finds – and here is what caught my eye (among the celebs in attendance)!

382061_10151634706748478_361612385_n

It was lovely to meet and see actress Courtney Cox! (Her fellow Friends star Lisa Kudrow was also in attendance.)

JillSeidner

My “design partner in crime” and fellow blogger Christian of Maison21 attended the event with me too.

Loved this glam gold console featured in one of the exhibitor booth’s at the Los Angeles Modernism Show.

424564_10151636037838478_688792598_n

Lots of artwork among the vendors, including abstracts, pop art, and geometric pieces like this one.

403268_10151636297168478_1316720364_n

Maison21 looking quite serious among some modern colorful pop art.

JillSeidner11

I would say the Joannes Lucas booth was the most eclectic of all the vendors, with the theme “Zoo” going on.

JillSeidner12

But I have to say, I quite liked this guy.

JillSeidner13

And wouldn’t doubt this would be a conversation piece at any party.

JillSeidner4

One of our favorites, is the Christopher Anthony Ltd space (which we had also seen at last Fall’s Art & Antiques Show). Again, another hit – featuring some great finds – including the console and accessories above (and below).

JillSeidner1

We had our eye on this vintage fireplace screen.

JillSeidner2

I thought this gilded geometric wall sculpture was pretty cool.

JillSeidner3

More from Christopher Anthony Ltd – modern metal and glass side tables.

431874_10151634889808478_1441541483_n

Off the Wall Antiques featured some great items, too – such as this large scale chandelier.

44371_10151634890243478_1928352360_n

These textured wall tiles were a fave of Maison21’s.

401225_10151636039183478_1021678076_n

I quite liked these retro textured pair of doors.

JillSeidner6

Lot’s of abstract art was on display, both gallery style among the aisles and in the vendor booths. I think seeing all the various pieces of art was one of my favorite things (well, among so much else!).

If you missed the show this year, be sure to mark your calendar for next year!

Recently featured in Architectural Digest (& making the rounds on Pinterest!) comes the latest project from famed interior designer Kelly Wearstler. Along with architect M. Brian Tichenor comes a 1930’s renovation of a Bel Air, California home. Of course, working with Kelly means only one thing: a bold new look!

item2.rendition.slideshowWideHorizontal.kelly-wearstler-04-living-room

In the living room, the vintage wall lights are a salvage from a Roman cinema along with leather sofas from J. Robert Scott.

The kitchen features a cluster of pendants from Blend Interiors (located on Beverly Blvd in LA) with alder-wood cabinetry and a stainless steel clad island with brass detail.

Rasberry leather chairs designed by Kelly are featured in the wife’s office.

item10.rendition.slideshowWideVertical.kelly-wearstler-07-daughters-room

I’m loving this bedroom! The daughter’s four poster bed is by Paul Evans with a custom made wallcovering from Porter Teleo. Vintage ceiling light and pair of dressers are from local LA showroom JF Chen (a Kelly favorite). The carpet is a customized carpet by The Rug Company.

item11.rendition.slideshowWideVertical.kelly-wearstler-08-daughters-bath

Another room I am loving! The daughter’s bathroom features inlaid-marble walls with vintage 60’s sconces. Sink fittings are from Lefroy Brooks.

item12.rendition.slideshowWideHorizontal.kelly-wearstler-09-pool-pavillion

The pool pavilion features a black and white herringbone pattern floor in stained walnut (brilliant!).

item13.rendition.slideshowWideVertical.kelly-wearstler-10-pavillion-bath

In the pavilion bath, striped walls play off a checkerboard floor and an oval 1920’s brass mirror is paired with an angular brass vanity. (Lots and lots of brass featured in this project!)

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the 17th Annual Los Angeles Antiques, Art + Design Show Opening Night Party held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. The event features over sixty prestigious national and international exhibitors and benefits the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Decorative Arts and Design Council. In attendance were both Hollywood celebs and designer celebs mingling together under one roof for a fabulous evening. (Click here for a link to the Getty Images.)

My date for the evening, Maison21 and I.

Reform Gallery, based here in Los Angeles, exhibited some fantastic artwork.

Always a fan of colorful abstract art, as seen at Reform Gallery.

More art and accessories at Reform Gallery’s space.

Vintage accessories seen at Joannes Lucas.

Loving this table lamp featured at Joannes Lucas.

Art and console in the space representing the LA based showroom, Habite.

One thing Maison21 and I agree on: we both loved almost everything in the Christopher Anthony Ltd space, a vintage store located in Palm Springs, CA.

A vintage bar cart at Christopher Anthony Ltd, pretty much puts every other bar cart to shame.

More fabulous finds from Christopher Anthony Ltd.

And yet, still more.

It was fun to see (& meet!) artist Lana Gomez in person. Emily recently featured Lana on the Material Girls blog (here)- we are a huge fan of her work!

Artist Lana Gomez pictured here in front of one of her large scale abstract paintings.

Dragonette, another Los Angeles based showroom located on La Cienega Blvd, featured a range of furnishings and accessories in their space.

A vignette at Dragonette.

A close up of a vignette showcased in Dragonette’s space.

JF Chen, a recipient of the 2012 Design Leadership Award Honoree, featured some dramatic pieces in his space.

“Newspaper” chair and ottoman, seen at JF Chen.

Lighting love, from Downtown, a La Cienega Blvd showroom.

Bejeweled encrusted boxes at Downtown (I spied Kelly Wearstler checking these out!).

Thank you to Period Media for including us for a fantastic evening.

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s Upper East Side NYC apartment is featured in the latest issue of ELLE DECOR magazine. It’s a stunning 10 room apartment located on Park Avenue. Ivanka worked closely with her interior designer to achieve a beautiful but functional home for her family.

The den features a Christian Liaigre sectional sofa and walls painted in Benjamin Moore’s Galveston Gray.

The mural in the entry foyer was hand painted by Bob George Studio.

The dining room features a Lindsey Adelman light fixture and Mies van der Rohe chairs.

The fun, vibrant lacquered blue desk in the den was custom designed by Trump’s designer.

The master bedroom features a custom designed headboard and side tables, with vintage 1940’s French stools at the foot of the bed.

The charming nursery includes an armchair and dresser from Restoration Hardware and the ceiling is wallpapered in a pattern from Sandberg.

To view the full spread, pick up the October issue of ELLE DECOR which hits newsstands this week!

This past week I attended an event at Cisco Home in Brentwood (one of their many store locations) to check out the launch of their new signature line, the Cisco Home Signature Collection. A line that features unique, vintage, & repurposed limited edition creations with a focus on style and sustainability.

The front entrance to the two showroom space Brentwood location.

Colorful and chic pendant lights are featured in the street side storefront window.

LOVE these “Made in LA” wood block letters!

My friend Morgan goes for the “M.”

All of us girls loved this vintage chaise!

I recently had the pleasure of attending a book launch event at Los Angeles based interior designer & showroom owner, Kishani Perera’s chic shop, Rummage.

The event was hosted by model/actress Molly Sims (along with a surprise appearance by actor Gary Oldman!) For proof, just check out this pic of Erika from Small Shop Studio with actor Gary Oldman!

An interior view of Kishani’s cute and chic shop, Rummage, from the upstairs mezzanine (where she also has her very cool studio space!).

Kishani’s book, Vintage Remix, is a must have!

I managed to get a copy of the book – and when I sat down to flip through it, I was awe inspired! Page after page of inspiring interiors, including Kishani’s projects and design philosophy. I really enjoyed seeing her own work space which is feautured in the book as well.

Kishani with Christian of Maison21 at her book launch event.

Another interior pic of Rummage, from near the front entrance.

Stylish vignettes and yummy desserts at the party!

If you’re in LA, defintely go visit Rummage!

And a very special Happy Birthday to Kishani – as today is her birthday!
